Browser Wars

1. What is a web browser?                    - A web browser is a type of software application that allows people to go to webpages and websites

2. List the most popular 4 web browsers currently? Which browser do you use?
              -The four most popular ones are Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome and Safari. I currently use Internet Explorer but I have used Safari a little bit.

3. What does the term 'browser war' mean and what drives the competition between web browsers? What is the big deal in having the #1 browser?

                -According to Wikipedia, it pretty much means a competition to have/use the most usage of a webpage/website. It becomes a rivarly between two websites to determine which is the better one. The big deal in having the number 1 browser is it is better for the marketplace and it becomes a big deal for the media which will spread it around even more.

What did you do?
-I downloaded Mozilla Firefox and then answered the questions.
What did you learn?
-I learned about the different types of web browsers and how they are all different.
How can you use the new learning?
-We can use different types of web browsers in our classrooms. It would help them enhance their technology by switching it up.
